Thought I would let you know that Nick and Todd did a beautiful job of fixing the seam in our living room. They also replaced the area in our dining room where the "T" seam is with a new piece of carpet we had leftover from the original installation. There is such a thing as an invisible seam, even with that carpet, when professionals do the job and do it right. Thanks for sending two of your best. I will surely tell my son when he is ready to carpet his entire house to request them.

I am writing to you to let you know what a wonderful experience I had getting my new carpeting from your store in San Mateo.

I had originally purchased a carpet with them that I subsequently decided was not right for me. I went back and fortunately had the good luck to deal with Paul Henthorn. In the interim, I had found a carpet at one of your competitors, but Paul was able to get me the same thing and give me a competitive price. I am so glad I decided to go ahead with it!

This whole process has taken a lengthy period of time as I was having remodel work done and things dragged out much longer than I expected. Paul was very patient with me, took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel that he would make sure everything came out just as I wanted.

The installer Jose and his crew were also terrific. He took the time to explain everything to me and did an exceptional job with a couple of very tricky areas I have that have very uneven heights.

However, the next day I noticed what I thought was a problem with one area of the carpet and had to call Paul. He was very reassuring, came right out to look at the area (which by then had almost disappeared just as he said it would) and even helped adjust my closet doors while he was here!

Last week we had 63 square yards of Pergo Select installed in our kitchen, family room, laundry room and bathroom. The installer was Srecko Juresek and his assistant was Victor Pachuca. I am taking the time to write to let you know how pleased we are with not only their workmanship, but also their attention to detail, wonderful craftsmanship and pleasing personalities. As you can imagine, having people in your home can be an intrusive experience. But these men were a pleasure to welcome each day into our home.

As I am sure often occurs, there were some additional challenges, i.e. termite infestation, water damage etc. Srecko, handled them all wonderfully, and showed what a true craftsman he is. As his helper, Victor never stopped working. When it was time to clean, after sawing in a planted courtyard outside of the kitchen, he not only cleaned the cement, but also took the time to blow the sawdust off the ferns planted nearby. When they left, Victor made sure everything was as they found it originally, with the exception of our new beautiful floor.

We would gladly recommend your store to any who ask, and would be proud to allow anyone to view the work done by these two gifted men.

The entire experience with everyone we encountered in your organization was professional and friendly.

I am writing this to commend one of your employees, David Haltom. My wife & I started looking at laminated floors to replace our living/ dining room & hallway floors late in April. We got estimates from Stuart Floor Company, Clark's Hardware Floors and a couple of other contractors. Since we were in San Jose one day, we decided to look at samples at Conklin Bros. This is where we met David who was very knowledgeable. He showed us many samples & told us many things we didn't know. We decided to have Conklin Bros. give us an estimate as well. I'm glad we did.

After coming to our home to take measurements for the estimate, David asked us to come down so he could make a drawing to scale. He really wanted to know exactly what we wanted & gave suggestions to do some things different. This took some time to complete but we left the store knowing what we were getting. None of the other contractors did this. This is why we hired Conklin Bros. to do our job. We had some problems with our sub‑floor and some other things & David was always available to resolve them. When the job was completed David came out again to inspect.

My husband and I had such a great experience working with Conklin Brothers that I felt compelled to write.

Yesterday, two amazing craftsmen, Shawn and Scott, installed our beautiful bamboo floor. Clearly, they were not simply installers; they enjoyed the beauty of the wood and took great pride in creating a perfect look in our house. No detail was ignored.

Working with Shawn and Scott followed our other positive experiences at Conklin, working with Bruce Sheinberg in sales and Bocci (sorry if I spelled it wrong) in scheduling. Bruce gave us a lot of personal attention and took the time to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. Even though our order was not huge, Bruce treated us as if we were major customers. Bocci impressed us with his thoroughness and professionalism. We appreciated that when he left us voicemails, he always included his phone number and extension simple thing, but many people do not do it.

As an avid reader of "ACTION LINE", I note that the bulk of your mail concerns consumer dissatisfaction with the many difficulties encountered trying to resolve often serious and costly problems. In contrast, I am writing to extol a local company founded one hundred and twenty‑five years ago whose General Manager went out of his way to listen to a problem I had and to remedy it with compassion and dispatch.

My husband and I recently replaced the floor covering in our kitchen/dining area. Much to our dismay we found, too late, that the product selected was very inappropriate due to my disability.

With rare understanding and personal graciousness, Craig Nourie, the General Manager of "Conklin Bros", listened and worked with us along with a solicitous salesman, Bruce Sheinberg. The situation was remedied promptly to our complete satisfaction and great relief.

Mr. Nourie embodies the ideals of service that "'Conklin Bros" started with in the late 1800's. I can attest that, to this day, their customer is honored with attention and respect. Today's "big box" business philosophy and dismissive attitudes often seem to deny any true personal concern for customers. What would have been an obstacle, a worry for me for many years is now the memory of a pleasant more‑than‑equitable solution that I appreciate more than I can say, but I will offer a heartfelt "thank you".

A couple of months ago I came to your store, based on the recommendation of a neighbor, to get an estimate for laying linoleum in my sub‑basement. I had contacted and/or visited two other local flooring stores and was not satisfied with their recommendations and pricing. This was a very small job and I realized that these establishments placed little value on my business.

In contrast, the service I received at Conklin Bros was excellent. Paul Wood (I may not be remembering his last name correctly) was both polite and very professional. He understood my needs and scheduled an in‑home evaluation to provide me with the most cost‑effective options. Within the next two weeks, two installers arrived and completed the job efficiently and to my satisfaction.

I'm writing to thank all of Conklin Bros for my beautiful new floors!! The carpeting is just what the living room and dining room needed. I appreciate the special trip that was made to explain about the seam also. The Wilsonart flooring is so pretty and is such a breeze to take care of. Khoa Nguyen did a very nice job including details that I hadn't even thought of! The baseboards and the Wilsonart look very nice. I still haven't finished painting the baseboards yet though! The bathroom vinyl floor looks so shiny; I keep thinking it is wet! It is much easier to take care of than the old flooring was. My thanks to the father and son that came and did such a nice job.

My thanks to all of the Conklin Bros staff and their installers. My house looks and smells so much better now! The tenant we had in this house had animals that had destroyed the flooring that was in here before and the smell was horrible! Khoa Nguyen and his helper especially deserve high praise for taking out and getting rid of that putrid flooring! I wish I had taken "before" and "after" pictures so I could give them to you to display so you would have them for future customers. They would be duly impressed. Most of all, I want to thank Dan Haas for coming out to our home and assisting us in our selections. He was very understanding, even when I took the samples out in the sun to see what the colors looked like out there! Thanks again to all of you. I'll highly recommend you to everyone I know!

We wanted to let you know that your installers, Jose Lopez and his assistant did a great job with the carpet installation yesterday. It took two and a half long days to finish the job. Jose made sure that the breaks in the carpet do not show in the entrance to the rooms and in other obvious places. This was more work for him, but he was willing to do it. He also did a good job with the stairs which is a tough task too since we bought a patterned carpet.

We recently had floor covering installed by your workers. We were so impressed with the work ethics of the 3 men who did the work that we could not allow that to go unnoticed by your company.

The men arrived promptly, dressed Very neatly, and gave us a clear idea of how they planned to do the work. Everything they did was done efficiently with the least amount of intrusion as possible. They cleaned up after themselves after removal of the old floor covering and began the installation efficiently.

At about 12:30pm we began to be concerned that they had not taken even one break and so we encouraged them to at least have a cold soda, which they did. Their lunch break was less than 30 minutes! Having been a small business owner in the past, we can assure you that most employees would have enjoyed a much more lengthy lunch break. They worked until the job was complete.

So, we hope you are taking good care of these 3 men, Jose and his crew. If we were still in business we would definitely try to recruit them. They are truly hard workers and self disciplined at what they do. Of course, only time will tell how the quality of their work is; frankly, we expect nothing more than excellence.
